Tongue & Cheek

Tongue & Cheek

Update: This location is now closed

Oh how I do love a great deal, not an okay nor a good deal, but a great deal. I discovered this gem of a restaurant when I started planning Max’s birthday earlier this year. I searched through the usual deal sites of Groupon, Living Social, Gilt City, and Yipit for a wonderful deal on a restaurant that offered clean and innovative dishes. I saw a number of options throughout the sites, but through further investigation and analysis of their menus and reviews, only one passed the test. At the time of my purchase, Gilt City had a great deal for Tongue & Cheek, $60 for $100 worth of food and drinks at Tongue & Cheek, although that was a good deal, I wasn’t stopping until I received a great deal. I found a 25% off coupon through an online search for Gilt City and upon appling it, it brought down the price to $45 for a $100 meal, now that’s a great deal.

The dinner was a birthday suprise for Max, which fell on a Monday this year. When we arrived at the restaurant on that Monday night, the restaurant was shockingly empty. When I was looking for directions earlier that night to the restaurant, Google Maps had indicated that it was closed on Mondays. Well, I’m guessing that’s what most of their clientele saw, hence leaving the restaurant empty on that Monday night. Truthfully, it was a nice treat for us to enjoy a restaurant to ourselves for Max’s birthday dinner, it’s a luxury not many can afford or get lucky enough to have. Our waitress for the night was generous enough to share with us their dining menu, drink menu, and their happy hour menu, which they regularly only offer to their bar patrons. What wonderful luck we had that night, not only did I find a great discount on a delicious meal, but we were able to order delicious drink and food items from their happy hour menu, which came at a great discounted price.

Now comes the fun part, the details on what we ordered that night:

Gigante Pork & Beef Cheek meatball in a Tomato-Garlic-Basil topped with Parmesan and seved with Grilled Bread. Your taste buds haven’t lived until they have a taste of Tongue & Cheeks melt in your mouth humangous meatballs.

We celebrated Max’s birthday with some alcoholic drinks, I had their Spicy Margarita and Max had a Local Craft Beer. Be adventuous and try some of the great drinks they offer, specially they’re crafty cocktails.

Beef Cheek Burger topped with Cheddar, Pimento Cheese, Sweet Onions and served on a House-made Brioche. Max an I both ordered this burger and it was beyond any burger we’ve ever tasted and we recommend it to anyone looking to experience one of the best burgers you’ll ever taste. In your first bite of this glorious burger, you’ll think you’re bitting into butter, the meat is soft and juicy, a truthfully melt in your mouth burger.

All in all, we had a memorable night at Tongue & Cheek for Max’s bithday and I cannot recommend their Beef Cheek Burger enough, you must give it a try. We loved our meal at Tongue & Cheek so much, we came back for a late lunch during their Happy Hour!

Delicious Coffee Cocktail seved during their Brunch hour, which they served to me during their Happy Hour. The best cocktail I’ve had at Tongue & Cheek, tastefully sinful.

Family Meal served daily from 4pm-8pm, they do a different meal everyday and it’s only $10. We went on a weekend and they had a deliciously fresh vanilla milkshake with braised short rib tacos and a tasteful seasonal salad topped with sweet walnuts.

Beef Cheek Slider during Happy Hour where they only charge $2/per slider. This is the smaller version of the Beef Cheek Burger and the perfect fit when you’re looking for a couple of bites as opposed to a whole meal, a must try!
